My CV

Shea Clarke

sheaclarke99@gmail.com

Hello my name is Shea Clarke and I would like to apply for the position of Junior Environment artist

For this position I have gained the following skills from my 3 years of work in college that I think will help me the most in this position
.Colour blending
.Shape Dynamics
.Perspective drawing

I have also obtained a lot of practical experience in different types of environments, such as Moorlands, Churches, Caves, Beaches, Coliseums, etc.

For this position I have had 3 years of education from James Watt College, from 2015-2018, studying games progressing from level 1 games to level 3 design and spent 1 year learning skill in level 1 media, 2015. I also have spent a couple of years in various different secondary schools giving me a range of different school experiences and educations, first I attended Streetly Secondary School, 2010-2011, then Ivy bridge community college, 2012, and finally St Francis secondary school, 2013-2014, where I finished my GCSE’s.

While I have not held any proper jobs I have assisted my father, who is a carpenter, in various jobs including helping him clean a building site, this happened in 2017, and practising driving a bulldozer. All of this helps my experience in this job as while helping I saw new and different environments as well as team working skills.

During my time in college I have previously held the title of student representative during my first year of college, I have also been the leader various presentation groups during my time in secondary, such as GCSE media where we had to make a class presentation about the history and origins of music videos. I have also led a group in a competition to go nationwide with a message about abuse in secondary school, while we did not win we were acknowledged for being one of the best groups in the whole school with some of the best teamwork.

Personality questionnaire

Name: Shea Clarke

1   What is it that makes you happiest in life?
Being creative, creating stories and making a world around them.

2   What do you do that makes you feel invincible?
Helping people understand things as it makes me feel that I am more capable than I think I really am.
3   What do people thank you for most?
Helping them understand things such as games, or work during college
4   What are you ridiculously good at?
Twisting most situations that I don’t understand into concepts that I can understand. I am also good at making up stories and backstories from a minimal amount of inspiration such as a picture of an old waterwheel.
5   Who do you look up to/ admire? Why?
I do not admire any one person, I do however admire the people who are able to act the way they want to in public no matter how weird they seem as well as people that have an idea of what they want to do and act on it for example Shigeru Miyamoto when he thought of creating Mario and Legend Of Zelda.

6   When was the last time you massively over delivered on something?
What was it?
One time during my first year of college I created a complicated 3D model of a lamp, as well as making a story to go with it, even though I had no experience working with 3D software and most of the other students made simple shaped objects such as a grandfather clock.
Why did you work so hard?
I worked so hard because I wanted to do something different to everybody else as well because I wanted to make a good impression for the people around me to show what I was capable of.

7   When was the last time you were so engrossed in something that you lost track of time?
What were you doing?
I can’t picture any one specific time this happened as I tend to lose track of time anytime I am doing something such as drawing a character or making a character.

8   Imagine you had won £158 Million on the lottery, it is now 3 months later, what will you do tomorrow?
I would probably be going somewhere such as the zoo with my family and then going out to dinner for the 30th time.

9   What would you do if you could not fail?
Talk in public and declare my own story driven ideas and try to create a new type of game or a unique story for a movie.
10                   If you could have or do anything what would it be?
If I could do anything I would probably take my family on a vacation to America since it is the one place we all agree to visit, and make sure we are safe while there.
11                   What topics are you passionate about and would argue with others over?
Things that my whole family talk about such as heroes, or even with other people over game concepts or our favourite characters.

12                   What makes you most angry about with the world?
People that make promises but don’t act on them, I am also quite angry with people who are unnecessarily mean or violent to other people.

If you had the resources, how would you fix it?
If I could I would share the necessary resources with other people so that they would now be able to keep any big important promises and give resources to people that have less than others as I feel a lot of conflict can be traced back to the fact that people have more than others so they act out in violence.

13                   When was the last time you couldn’t sleep because you were excited about something? What was it?
The last time this happened was 2017 when my whole family went on a holiday to Bulgaria for 2 weeks.

14                   What work would you gladly do for free?
Anything not life threatening or where I won’t cause harm to others, for a specific answer I would happily travel to other parts of the world for free

15                   What do your friends tell you that you are good at?
People often tell me that I am good at problem solving

16                   What are you naturally curious about?
What it feels like to have the same disadvantages as other people such as blind people or those who are missing limbs.

17                   If you had a free hour to surf the internet, what would you explore? (not inc social media)
I would research mysteries or strange things in the world and try to come up with a solution myself.

18                   When you were between 5 and 10 what did you want to be when you grew up?
Someone who can express themselves freely as I had trouble speaking my mind during that time.

19                   What art skills do you feel most confident about currently?
I feel comfortable with my colour blending abilities and the initial creative process
20                   What aspects of games are you most interested in currently?
The backstory and character origins of people or the world.

21                   If Bethesda and a small but successful independent games company rang you today to offer you work experience, who would you choose to go with? Why?
If it was for a job I would go with Bethesda since it would be a more stable position but for work experience I would go for the small company since it would suit my work pace better.
